Car info
This is one of the cleanest Mercs I’ve owned. The previous owner loved this car and took care of it. I’ll start with by sayin all the gauges work, that never happens!
Interior has been redone with a nice light and dark grey color. There is plastic still covering the lower part of the front bench seat. The headliner should be redone as a think a little critter lived up there and stained it. There’s some discoloring on the front carpet piece other than that the rest of the interior is really clean. Like I said all the gauges work and look to be in really good shape. The radio does not work but maybe I just don’t know how to turn it on. All interior lights work as well including the upper dome light. The windshield wipers even work.
The motor is original the original flathead with 3 on the tree and working overdrive. The motor runs strong and sounds amazing with its duel exhaust. It has a newer coil, points, battery, and some updates to the electrical system such as the reverse lights option on the trunk lid, and a power cut off switch. It still is running the original 6V system and hasn’t had any issues with getting it started or power loss while driving. Clutch is smooth and has a lot of life left. Brake lines look to be replaced as well as the master cylinder.
The car has been repainted black and shows okay but isn’t as good as it looks in photos. It’s a for sure 15 foot paint job with scratches, dings, and chips. The paint is probably the worst thing about the car however the body is solid as a rock! The underside is the cleanest I’ve seen in a long long time. There is small body damage to the passenger side rear near the tail light where the previous owner backed into something.
I adjusted the cosmetics buy lowering it with Aerostar springs in the front and 4” lowering blocks in the rear, dummy Appleton spotlights, and some
Firestone classic deluxe wide white walls which have tons of tread left. I’m waiting for the new headlight bezel, blinker lens, and rear tail light housing to show up and those will be taken care of.
This is a get in and drive kind of car with all the small stuff already done! This is a car that belongs with someone who wants to drive it, have fun and not worry about wiping it down with a diaper while at shows.
You can find a full walk around video of the car on our instagram page. look for the IGTV video post.
